Myths#1 Fitness, Body Building and Workouts

There are often misconception when it come to fitness, body building or even workouts.


These misconceptions are able to demotivate us when we mislead and end up give up the persuasion for better and fitter life.
Myth: My belly is big, I can just reduce them by sit-up.
Truth: There are no spot reduction. Fat on whichever part of body can only to be lose through overall body fat.

Myth: Swimming too long in the water will cause body to counter react and keep fats in body.
Truth: Swimming is a great sports that use lots energy due to resistance inside water and it's well support by the buoyancy. Only a few deep sea swimmer are found that their body retain from losing fat due to swimming for hours in cold sea.

Myth: Do not exercise too much, it cause us to have big legs and arms.
Truth:  major type of exercise, cardio that burn fat, strength training that build muscle, none of them can build big leg and arms easily. Unless you worked your muscles like lifting half your body weight consistently, then your muscles are growing.

Myth: I need not do any exercise but just not eating or consuming slimming pills to diet.
Truth: By not eating, your body go into starvation and they retain your fat as a source, you see your weights are dropping, because they probably are your muscle mass and water mass, and this is not good for you and your health.

Myth: No study showed that exercise and working out can definitely increase lifespan but study  shows that there are higher risk of heart attack when exercise, so we shouldn't work at all.
Truth: There are lots factors affecting lifespan, studies can't limit the factors to just exercise, and there are no %. But study definitely side to those exercise regularly, eat healthy and live well people. Cardiac diseases are found directly with bad cholesterol and that are something to do with eating and living habits. We work to live.

Myth: Muscle is heavier than fat. I'm gaining weight because I gain muscle.
Truth: People always made themselves feel good when things go wrong. It's true that muscle is heavier but it's always easier to gain fat than muscle. Unless you worked so heavy in strength training, resulting your muscle gain outpace your fat lost then you are gaining your weight cause of muscle gain.But if you are saying that you just walk up and down stairs and gained weight.Probably you gain fat through diet.

Myth: I only want  6 packs, big arms, not legs, so I don't workout my legs.
Truth: Professional body builders never neglect their leg workouts, not simply they want huge legs, but working out legs, your major muscle groups such as hamstrings and quadriceps give you a boost of growth hormone and testosterone that give you a better overall body workout. So start squatting and dead-lifting now.

Myth: I am focus on having muscular arms and body. So I am doing strength training, particular isolation exercises.
Truth: Body builders train with isolation exercises.But they are already reached a stage where they developed more than the body can developed. However, they will not just focus on the isolation exercises. Compound exercises are always better workouts, you worked the muscle you want, but also other muscle group, give you better pump of growth hormones and you be more efficient in the workouts. Do not neglect compound exercises.
  
Myth: I'm a girl, I just want to slim, do not want any muscles, what can I do?
Truth: Everyone has muscles. Some people have bigger muscles because they work them heavily. You can get slim by burning fat through cardio exercises, jogging, cycling, dancing, yoga, boxing... You wouldn't have huge arms and legs doing these.And actually there are people who look for rhese huge arms and legs and they can't reach even by working out heavily. So less worry.
  
Myth: My weight has not been decreasing even I'm try hard, I guess I am just born fat.
Truth: Genetics are one of the factors of being fat but not all. Plateau in weight scale may mean that your body are adapting to the lost or changes of life style. What you need to do is struggle through, top up some effort and try to relax and just enjoy exercise and eating healthy. The scale will come down of course.


Myth: I am bulky, he is lean, so I must be the one that is stronger in strength.
Truth: Gymnasts are small but are strong indeed. Higher muscle mass does contribute to strength gain, but strength gain not necessary contribute to muscle gain. Hence, it''s conclude that someone who seem smaller not necessary weaker. Beside physical, mental and inner strength should be take into consideration as well.


Myth: Girls are capable of having big arms and legs like those Mr Asia.
Truth: Girls are lack of testosterone and hence they wouldn't get as bulky as men do but they can train to have low body fat and good shape.
